Texas Takeover with Jet Linx Austin Grand Opening

JET LINX AUSTIN HAS COMPLETED THE COMPANY’S ROUNDUP IN TEXAS AS IT BECOMES THE FIFTH PRIVATE JET LINX TERMINAL TO OPEN IN THE LONESTAR STATE, JOINING DALLAS, FORT WORTH, SAN ANTONIO, AND HOUSTON.

To celebrate the grand opening of Jet Linx Austin, team members from across the Lone Star State joined their colleagues at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. There, they welcomed current and future Jet Card members and aircraft owners to the newest Jet Linx Base for a highly anticipated Grand Opening celebration on September 5, 2019.

Jet Linx Austin General Manager Lee Lancaster, noted the party reflected both the luxury service of Jet Linx and the spirit of Texas. “It was a lively, upscale opening party with a huge turnout. The luxury jets on display, the hors d’oeuvres, and the Texas artisan craft work all made it a memorable evening. You would expect nothing less from Jet Linx Austin, as we aim to offer the best private aviation services in Texas.”

About 250 guests from the Austin-area and all corners of Texas attended the event. They mingled while exploring the new space, which completed construction at the end of June. The 2,000-square- foot private terminal is highly visible at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, and anyone that arrives or departs the airfield will see the large Jet Linx Austin sign in view.

The evening of the event, guests toured multiple static aircraft on display, including a Gulfstream G-280, a Falcon Jet 8X, an Embraer Legacy 500, and Bombardier Challenger 350. The Jet Linx Austin event was alive with Texan flare, from food to entertainment. Passed hors d’oeuvres like jalapeño bacon wrapped quail with buttermilk ranch and hatch green chili corn fritters kept appetites at bay. Small bites such as carved-to-order brisket, carnitas, blackened shrimp, and Mexican street corn were crowd pleasers. To top things off, a churro bar offered unique dipping sauces like mango-chile and spicy chocolate.

Artisan Craftmakers Display their Wares

Two Texan artisans were also present, showcasing high-end, handmade wares, each the result of generations of practice. Engraver and silversmith Clint Orms, world-renowned for his meticulously designed and crafted work, was on hand displaying his intricately-engraved belt buckles, cuff links, and money clips. From his small workshop in Ingram, Texas, Orms creates sought- after pieces that are handed down through generations.

A fourth-generation boot maker was also present at the grand opening event. Dustin Lauw was ecstatic to be invited to the event. Lauw is one of the finest bootmakers in Texas, as his methods have been time-tested over four generations. A few lucky guests were able to squeeze into his production schedule – which is booked solid for the next eight months!

“The whole evening had a very Texan feel. There was a warm breeze, a churro bar, a tequila bar, silversmiths and bootmakers. It was also nice to see team members from San Antonio come out to show their support,” said Katie Burns, Director of Jet Card Sales in Austin.

Burns was eager to finally see the Jet Linx Austin Base open. “Austin is rapidly growing as a city, and Jet Linx has also seen a lot of healthy growth. I feel that those two factors are going to create a recipe for success,” she said.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 100 people move to Austin every single day. For more than five years, Austin has been the fastest-growing major metropolitan area in the country. Many of the new arrivals are younger and work in the tech industry, which could provide lots of opportunities for Jet Linx Austin to grow. “We feel like we’re in a perfect position right now. Austin is exploding, and we’re situated right in the middle of other Jet Linx Bases in Texas,” Burns noted. “That allows us to work together to improve our offerings to clients.”
