Chicago Executive Airport — formerly known as Palwaukee Municipal Airport — was founded in 1926 as Gauthier's Flying Field and renamed Pal-Waukee in 1928 (a hybrid of the names of the two roads at whose intersection it sits, Palatine Road and Milwaukee Avenue). KPWK is the fourth-busiest airport in Illinois.
