What to Look For in a Private Aviation Provider

If you are considering private aviation, there are certain questions you should ask potential providers to ensure you are making the right choice. Don’t know where to start? You can trust the experts at Jet Linx to help. After years of working in the aviation industry, Jet Linx St. Louis Base President Rich Ropp offers his advice on what to look for in a company and the right questions to ask before making your decision.

What safety ratings have been achieved by the operator? (Examples include Wyvern Wingman, ARG/US Platinum, IS-BAO Stage 1, 2, 3 or 4)

Is their team experienced enough to know the right questions to ask to ensure a flawless flight experience?  (Look for a hands-on, personal service level that addresses issues before they become problems.)

Is the provider an actual operator with an Aircraft Operating Certificate (AOC) from the FAA or are they only a broker? (similar to an airline vs. a travel agent)

How often do they broker their trips (use another operator’s aircraft)?

How does the operator handle requests and services outside of normal business hours?

If an aircraft has mechanical issues, how will the operator serve you with an alternative option?

Finally, what do they offer beyond airline service? Such as benefit programs or anything else to further enhance their client’s experience beyond flight service.
