Jet Linx Denver Hosts 4th Non-profit Von’s Vision’s Annual A Night to Take Flight for Sold-Out Crowd

Since 2020, two-time Superbowl Champion and NFL Linebacker Von Miller has hosted his A Night to Take Flight celebrity gala event for his foundation, Von’s Vision, at Jet Linx Denver’s private terminal and jet hangar at Centennial Airport.

Founded in 2012, the mission of Von’s Vision is to provide low-income students with eye care and fashionable corrective eyewear they need to be their best in the classroom and in life. Every year, 5,000 low-income 1st grade students enter the Denver Public School System without ever seeing an eye doctor, and more than 1,900 of them need glasses.

“In 2011, I saw Tim Tebow building hospitals in the Philippines. I wanted to make an impact like that, but I’m not Tim Tebow and I needed to find my own passion. I was signing autographs one day and then boom, it hit me. I took my glasses off and said, ‘I’m going to start Von’s Vision. I’m going to give contacts, Lasik surgery, eye exams for kids in need.’ And 11 years later, here we are. I am so thankful to the board, all our supporters and partners, sponsors, and of course Jet Linx for allowing us to use their space for so many years,” said Miller at the event.

At the third annual A Night to Take Flight in 2022, more than $300,000 was raised through ticket sales and once-in-a-lifetime auction packages. At the fourth annual event in 2023, attendees also had the opportunity to bid on premier, bucket-list experiences and rare memorabilia through the event’s live and silent auctions. Net proceeds support the Von’s Vision outreach programs; Von’s Vision Days, Von’s Vision Center, and Von’s Locker programs. Since its founding, Von’s Vision has helped 9,500 children receive access to vision care with $5.2 million in free eye exams.

Held inside Jet Linx Denver’s spacious hangar, the 2023 A Night to Take Flight, presented by Hero Practice Services & Schomp Subaru, once again brought to life Miller’s passion for private aviation, exotic cars, and giving kids the gift of sight. The evening began with a cocktail reception overlooking a Rocky Mountain sunset, highlighted by live entertainment and signature cocktails designed specifically for the event.

Following the reception, a multi-course dinner including short rib with red wine demi-glace, potatoes in truffle oil, brown butter broccolini and orange blossom jasmine mousse was served amidst an exciting live auction. Even as the Denver Nuggets were tipping off in Game 1 of the NBA finals in Denver, Von’s A Night to Take Flight still attracted a sold-out crowd of more than 200 guests, including Jet Linx team members Lauren Remy, Denver Base Vice President; Kara McKiernan, Senior Personal Flight Concierge; and Lisa Elliott, Personal Flight Concierge.

Attendees had the opportunity to interact with many of the top philanthropists and business professionals in the Denver area, as well as Miller, and current Broncos Tim Patrick, Javonte Williams, Courtland Sutton, Patrick Surtain II, Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler and Albert Okwuegbunam. Exotic sports cars and two Citation X private jets (managed by Jet Linx Denver) were displayed throughout the hanagar and aircraft ramp, and every attendee went home with a Von Miller autographed Denver Broncos Signature Series football.

“Von Miller is an incredible role model and community leader, and we feel grateful to support his vision with our world-class private terminal and hangar space. Every year we seek to improve and elevate the event, to raise more awareness and to generate more funds for this organization that impacts our Denver community in such a positive way,” said Remy.
