Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Located on one of Cabo’s only swimmable beaches, Chileno Bay hits just the right balance between a luxury beach resort and a laidback, no-fuss escape. Not too hip, not too tacky, and not too family oriented, Chileno Bay offers a great place for a weekend away with great food and creative drinks. The 92-room hotel is also not too small, and not too big, but still gives off boutique vibes with a beachside taco bar where things feel special instead of forced.
Landscaping embraces the desert setting with style, while interiors feel beachy, but refined. You won’t find any formal evenings or loud parties here. Rooms come on the larger side with a real indoor-outdoor set up: a spacious kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances that you can actually cook with, and living room areas that open onto patios overlooking the Pacific. The decor is modern and breezy, with wood-planked ceilings, polished stone floors, live-edge wood coffee tables, and a considerable amount of local texture and accent. Resort amenities include a series of tiered pools fringed by loungers, extensive gym, access to public beach and golf club, and spa featuring local treatments such as a Himalayan salt room and ice bath. Chileno Bay offers a bevy of amenities in a laissez-faire setting, which can be hard to find in the area.
