Private Jet Flying Climbs To Highest Level Since 2008

Business aircraft activity last month climbed to its highest level since 2008, rising 1.8 percent from a year ago, according to TraqPak data released yesterday by aviation services company ARGUS. Argus TraqPak data provides “serial-number-specific aircraft arrival and departure information on all IFR flights in the U.S. and Canada.”

J.P.Morgan: Some Improvements Seen in Private Jet Market

Demand for private jets is far from robust, but at the margin some developments suggest improvement,” J.P. Morgan aerospace analysts said in their latest business jet monthly update, released Sept. 10. Among these positive developments, U.S. flight operations climbed 4.7 percent year-over-year in July, which the investment firm said is the best result since May 2011 and the fourth consecutive month of year-over-year growth.

The FAA estimates that the number of private jets and hours flown have increased by over 10% since 2008.
