Making Moments Possible in Salt Lake City
Every so often, a simple request can turn into something unexpected. A few weeks ago in Salt Lake City, our team received a request that ended up turning into something quite special for a local aviation enthusiast and his family.
Aiden, an 18-year-old with autism and an intellectual delay, has a passion for learning that often centers deeply on one topic. He’s had a lifelong love of machinery and vehicles, and also has a relative who is an airline pilot, airline mechanic, and Life Flight pilot. However his most recent interest has been private jets, and his curiosity sparked an unforgettable moment in June. Aiden had viewed jets from afar, but he really wanted a closer look.
His mother reached out on a whim, submitting a request through the Jet Linx ‘contact us’ page. Within an hour, Jet Linx Regional Vice President, Shooter Smith, responded enthusiastically, insisting that Aiden could have more than just a glimpse, he’d be happy to welcome him aboard one of our private jets in Salt Lake City.

Arriving at the private terminal, Aiden and his family were greeted by Client Relations team member, Hannah Griffin, whose compassion set the tone for the day.
“I never pass up a chance to share my passion for aviation, so I made arrangements to make sure that Aiden and his family would have a memorable experience,” Griffin explained. “We work in such a unique and exciting industry, and being able to introduce others to what makes it special is part of what gets me out of bed every morning.”
Out on the tarmac, Jet Linx pilot Alex Hernandez waited with a Cessna Citation X that lit up Aiden’s face. Together, they explored every detail from the nose to the cockpit where Aiden became designated co-pilot for a day. With gentle explanations, Griffin and Hernandez answered every question, making aviation come alive in ways a screen never could for Aiden.

“Aiden just graduated high school and it’s been a difficult adjustment period, but when he was in the cockpit that was as happy as we’d seen him in months. It truly is a moment he will never forget. We’re always amazed at how the compassion of strangers can lift our spirits in unexpected ways,” said Janet, Aiden’s mother.
