Why We Ground Our Fleet: Inside Our 9th Annual Safety Summit

In an industry under scrutiny, Jet Linx stands as the only U.S. private aviation operator to ground its fleet for a full day of immersive, hands-on safety training.

This is a voluntary commitment that costs us $850,000 in potential revenue each year. For the ninth consecutive year, we’ve chosen to pause operations because safety is our highest priority.

Why Safety is Personal

On June 10, more than 500 Jet Linx team members gathered for our 9th Annual Safety Summit, both in Omaha, NE, at our National Operations Center and virtually. United by a single purpose, we dedicate the annual Summit to ensuring every Jet Linx flight returns home safely. The theme for 2025 was “Safety: Beyond the Checklist”.

NASA astronaut and aviation safety expert Charlie Precourt challenged us to see safety as a mindset, not just a checklist. Drawing on his experience in military aviation and space exploration, he emphasized that safety requires constant vigilance, open communication, and a willingness to learn.

Precourt said, “I’m a former astronaut with thousands of flight hours in nearly 100 different aircraft. If I’m not done learning yet, neither are you.”

An industry safety roundtable followed, including Captain Rich Loudon and US Air Force Major Tyler Hicks. The panel discussed building a culture where team members feel empowered to speak up, challenge procedures, and prioritize safety over revenue. They stressed that true safety relies on humility, scenario-based training, and continuous improvement—not just checklists.

Engaging team challenges like Family Feud reminded us that behind every system and checklist are people making critical decisions. We concluded the Safety Summit by honoring seven team members with internal safety awards, recognizing the human element that consistently advances Jet Linx’s safety standards and core values.

Why We Commit to Safety

At the close of the 2025 Safety Summit, Jet Linx Executive Chairman, Jamie Walker, shared, “Every year I always ask myself why we host this summit. Why are we the only operator to pause operations? Why do we continue to invest so heavily in our safety programs? It’s because this single day sets the culture for the other 364 days in a year.”

When flight operations resume, every team member returns with renewed knowledge, stronger connections, and a reinforced commitment to our safety culture. Our investments in training, technology, and people create the foundation for safe flights, now and in the future. While regulations may change and new challenges will arise, our commitment remains.

When you choose Jet Linx, you’re choosing an operator that puts safety first.
