St. George’s, Grenada
Silversands Grenada is composed of just 53 rooms and suites, five beachfront villas and four hillside villas on the Grand Anse Beach, but you’ll be welcomed to the same sleek luxury found at any large hotel. A 300-foot-long infinity pool (the longest in the Carribean) serves as a beautiful centerpiece for taking in ocean views during a Friday night cigar sampling and rosé party. Opened in 2018, Silversands Grenada is the first property to open in 25 years but has quickly earned notoriety for modern luxury in a low key setting.
Couples seeking a romantic getaway, babymooners, or families with children over 12 will enjoy this lively boutique retreat. Located in the middle of the Grand Anse Beach, swimming is a must, but many guests enjoy exploring local chocolate factories, rum distilleries and hiking to waterfalls in lush tropical forests. For a change of pace, visit the spa where you’ll find a sauna and steam room, an ice room, a lighted experiential shower, cold bucket shower room and offerings such as a quartz sand massage with nutmeg oil.
All of the rooms are designed with natural wood, stone and marble, in a neutral color palette with floor-to-ceiling windows. It’s a sleeker aesthetic than many Caribbean hotels, and also very high tech—you can control everything right from your bed, including dimming lights and opening shades. For foodies, Silversands Grenada offers two restaurant options serving locally sourced fare with a view. Asiatique, the onsite restaurant offering Asian-Caribbean cuisine, is well known for its Bang-Bang shrimp and charcoal vegetable Dim Sum.
