Commodore Perry Estate
The 10,800-square-foot Italianate manor, built in 1928, originally served as the country home for “Commodore” Edgar and Lutie Perry, but has been restored to its former glory and turned into an upscale resort unlike anything else in Austin. The dreamy grounds have been updated with fresh landscaping, a new pool, and the addition of a three-story, 42-room Inn with seven terrace suites, plus five VIP suites in the historic Mansion. The relaxed Spanish-style interior courtyard with a bubbling fountain shaded by palm trees offers a glimpse into what this urban retreat offers.
Rooms offer decorations that mix hometown flair (items have been sourced through Texas’ acclaimed antiques fair) and Spanish Revival. Like any home, you’re free to take your cocktails and meals throughout the 10-acre property, including the Mansion, Solarium, Living Room, Loggia, Library, Terrace, and Lutie’s Garden Restaurant. English-style gardens, swimming pool and striped tents for private picnics offer a peek into the playful history of the hotel. The Commodore Perry Estate offers an escape into the past with a breathtakingly restored property existing within the confines of Austin, Texas – the best of both worlds.
