JET LINX FORT WORTH LOCAL HISTORY
Originally established in 1914 to serve the U.S. Army, the airport was renamed Meacham Field in 1927 in honor of former Mayor Henry C. Meacham. In 1928 Meacham hosted the first scheduled airline flight in Texas, and on April 4, 1937 it opened the first air-conditioned passenger terminal in the United States. More recently, Meacham has served as a filming location for Taylor Sheridan productions including Landman, Lioness, and The Madison.
