My Home Base – Jeff Kircher, Jet Linx Houston

In each edition of My Home Base, we feature a member of the Jet Linx team from across the country and showcase what they feel makes their Jet Linx location and their city special. In this edition, meet Jeff Kircher, Jet Linx Houston Base Chief Pilot.

Favorite part of your job: No day is ever the same in our business. We get to experience so many different things in our line of work. I especially enjoy interacting with our clients and passengers, and making sure that every flight is special for them.

Describe the Jet Linx team in one word: Family.

Favorite Jet Linx memory or experience: We were conducting a flight for a well-known NASCAR sponsor, and when we landed, he gave us passes to the race that weekend. They allowed us on pit road and to sit with the race team, and he introduced us to NASCAR driver Klint Boyer before the race. We were so thankful and it really was a once in a lifetime experience for us!

Favorite thing about Houston: The rodeo – it lasts an entire month!

Little know fact about yourself, or favorite hobby: I used to hold two land speed records in the Texas Mile, which is a land speed competition on airport runways. My top speed was 230 mph in a modified Mustang with 2200 Horsepower. The day after my last race, I started with Jet Linx!

What might someone find surprising about your job: When compared to airline pilots, people are surprised that Jet Linx crew members do all the baggage loading, fueling, flight planning, air hostess and on occasion, clean the aircraft.
