Global 8000

Bombardier’s release of the Global Express caused quite the stir when it launched in the 1990s, and in the years since, the Canadian business jet manufacturer has steadily refined the nameplate.

With the Global 8000, derived from the popular Global 7500, private aviation is quickly accelerating to Mach 1 and beyond. The Global 8000 aircraft stands alone as the world’s fastest and longest-range, purpose-built business jet, innovatively crafted with the industry’s smoothest ride and lowest cabin altitude.

With its innovative Smooth Flĕx Wing and super-efficient Passport engines, the Global 8000 has repeatedly attained speeds of Mach 1.015 (780 miles per hour) during test flights. That achievement makes the Global 8000 the fastest business jet in civil aviation since the Concorde, and also the first Transport Category airplane to fly supersonic with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

At cruising speeds, the Global 8000 will come extremely close to breaking the sound barrier, with a maximum speed of Mach 0.94 – just six one-hundredths below Mach one (the speed of sound). The highest maximum speed in the private jet world was previously Mach 0.925 – which also happens to be the top speed of the Global 8000’s predecessor, the Global 7500.

The Global 8000 throws down not only a gauntlet of speed, but the range and luxe trappings required to assume the role as king of the skies when the new model goes to market in 2025. The jet will also be the only true four-zone cabin business jet to have a range of 8,000 nautical miles, unlocking even more city pairs than ever before, such as Dubai-Houston, Singapore-Los Angeles, and London-Perth, while offering the field performance of a Light Jet, capable of flying from the shortest runways in all weather conditions and providing safe access to challenging airfields that its closest competitors cannot reach.

“Today, Bombardier solidifies once more its position as the leader in business aviation with the newest member of the industry-leading Global family,” said Éric Martel, Bombardier’s President and Chief Executive Officer at EBACE in Geneva last May. “The Global 8000 aircraft leverages the outstanding attributes of the Global 7500 aircraft, providing our customers with a flagship aircraft of a new era. We remain unmatched, which for an innovation-focused team like us, is great.”

While the operational performance of the Global 8000 stands out, the spacious four-zone cabin offers personalized suites ergonomically designed to maximize space and freedom of movement. The cabin is alive with creature comforts, including a Soleil circadian-based cabin lighting system that uses specific combinations of red and blue light wavelengths to help combat jet lag, and the lowest cabin altitude of the industry – just 2,900 feet when flying at 41,000 feet. Cabin ambiance can also be easily adjusted with lighting for any mood with pre-set lighting spectrums for morning, night, or mood lighting. The Bombardier Pur Air System completely refreshes cabin air in as little as 90 seconds, making it the fastest fresh-air delivery system in the industry, while a hospital-grade HEPA filter and VOC filter ensures the air remains as clean and crisp as possible.

Innovative Nuage seats throughout the cabin offer the first-ever zero-gravity position, ensuring that passengers arrive at their destinations revitalized and relaxed. Interior configurations can be customized to include a full-size kitchen with dual convection ovens, furnished lavatory, and a host of individual suite options including a Crew suite, a wardrobe, a club suite, a conference suite, an entertainment suite, and a Principal suite with full-size bed and stand-up shower. The aircraft can also be outfitted with a spacious three workspace configuration, ideal for business productivity. Last but not least, the Bombardier Vision flight deck features next generation fly-by-wire technology and cutting-edge avionics to offer exceptional situational awareness, ergonomics and remarkable control.
