Award-Winning Tutu Project Campaign Funds Help The Tutu Project Support Breast Cancer Patients During COVID-19 Outbreak.

 

When Jet Linx team members raised $92,000 for The Tutu Project in 2019, nobody realized the funds would aid patients in need during a global pandemic. In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, The Tutu Project, an organization dedicated to the support of breast cancer patients and their families, began offering grants to high-risk breast cancer patients. This new Tutu-led initiative comes alongside news that Jet Linx earned a 2020 Communitas Award for Community Partnership, highlighting the company’s fundraising efforts on behalf of The Tutu Project.

Bob and Linda Carey, founders of the Tutu Project, realize that the high-risk populations they serve should be at home focusing on their health, not working or shopping for groceries. On April 9, 2020, The Tutu Project announced the immediate release of $15,000 to aid breast cancer patients struggling to feed their families and pay bills due to the impacts of COVID-19.

Fund distribution and vetting is managed through a partnership with Vital Options International. This 501(c)(3) nonprofit is a cancer communication, education and advocacy organization. The partnership with Vital Options International provides grants in a straightforward process that can be accomplished fully online.

Jet Linx Core Values in Action

 

The entire Jet Linx community played a role in fundraising for the fifth annual #Dare2Tutu campaign in support of The Tutu Project. As in years past, team members, clients and partners were all asked to don a pink tutu and share the image on social media. Jet Linx donated $20 per each image shared, but also sourced direct donations and auctioned artwork to raise funds. Jet Linx team members knew that the effort would serve a critical need, but the profound impact it would eventually have for at-risk populations during a global pandemic was not something anyone predicted.

Not only did we far exceed our fundraising goals, those funds now support The Tutu Project’s efforts to help patients amidst this pandemic,” revealed Jamie Walker, Jet Linx President and CEO. “Our goal for this partnership has always been to help others, and our team couldn’t be more pleased with the impacts we have made. 2019 #Dare2Tutu an Award-Winning & Record-Breaking Campaign

 

The Communitas Awards from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) is an international effort to recognize exceptional businesses, organizations, and individuals who are unselfishly giving of themselves and their resources. Each year, nominees are evaluated on the extent and effectiveness of their efforts to engage in their community and support worthy non-profits. According to the Communitas Awards mission statement, the awards are “inspired by the vision of a better world and are an attempt to do something about it through volunteerism, investment and ethical, sustainable business practices.”

Jet Linx has received previous honors from AMCP for various communications efforts, including both Hermes Creative Awards and Marcom Awards of Excellence for the content and design of SOAR Magazine. The AMCP offered previous award-winners complimentary entries in the 2020 Communitas Awards competition. Jet Linx jumped at the chance to share the incredible results of the 2019 #Dare2Tutu campaign, which was honored with the 2020 Communitas Award for Community Partnership.

This included mailing a tutu (over 2,200, each hand-tagged and hand-packed by our marketing team!) to each and every Jet Linx client. These personal touches resulted in fundraising totals that exceeded our goal of $50,000 – bringing in over $92,000 to The Tutu Project. The funds allowed them to kick-start their own direct-giving grant campaign.”
