A Five-Star Arrival: Jet Linx Miami & Boca Raton

Jet Linx continues to expand across the country, celebrating its 20th Base location at Miami-Opa Locka Airport. The newly-built Miami private terminal began serving clients in September 2021 and hosted a Grand Opening event at the private terminal facility in March 2022.

On the same day as the Grand Opening, Jet Linx also announced the acquisition of Southern Jet, a Boca Raton-based charter and aircraft management company. With the opening of Jet Linx Miami and acquisition of Southern Jet – formally establishing Jet Linx in Boca Raton – Jet Linx is now one of the largest Aircraft Management and Jet Card Membership companies serving South Florida.

“Jet Linx Miami and Jet Linx Boca Raton represent our commitment to serving the South Florida community with our unique, local, Five-Star private jet services,” said Jamie Walker, President & CEO of Jet Linx. “We continue to see increasingly strong demand in Florida and have been focused on pursuing acquisition opportunities to expand our facilities and operations in the marketplace. I am very proud to introduce our first dedicated private terminal in Miami, and to establish Jet Linx Boca Raton, catering to the needs of local Aircraft Owners and Jet Card Members, as well as serving the demand to the region from our Jet Linx New York Base in Teterboro, NJ (TEB), and other Northeastern locations.”

The event featured live entertainment from four-time Grammy Award-winner Tomasito Cruz.

Favorable flying weather, paired with an abundance of airports and a dense population of private jet owners means that Jet Linx Miami and Jet Linx Boca Raton will service a large fleet. Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport saw more than 30,000 departures in 2021, making it the 8th busiest private airport in the nation, while the state of Florida saw the most departures in the country in 2021, averaging more than 1,000 per day, taking an 18% share of private flight activity nationwide.

“The recent expansion of Jet Linx into Tier one cities including New York, Chicago and now Miami, is truly a watershed moment for the Company by solidifying our presence in the busiest private aviation markets in the world,” said Alec LeFort, Regional Base President of Jet Linx Boston and Jet Linx New York. “We’ve truly become a player in these major markets.”

The Jet Linx acquisition of Southern Jet represents the fifth acquisition since 2015, part of a strategic plan to acquire select local operators in the cities it serves to help complement organic growth. Previously, Jet Linx acquired Meridian Aircraft Management & Charter business in Teterboro, NJ, ProJet Aviation in Washington D.C., Flight Concepts in Tulsa, OK, and Elliott Aviation’s Aircraft Management and Charter business in Minneapolis, MN.

“One of our biggest differentiators is the focus on a personalized and hands-on client experience where you are met by an on-site Flight Concierge at a Jet Linx private terminal. With the opening of a stunning Miami location,” LeFort added, “we will now be able to provide one of our busiest routes with the best end-to-end client experience in the industry.”

At Miami’s Grand Opening event, guests mingled inside and outside of the 3,200-square-foot private terminal, imbued with modern minimalism and Mediterranean Revival style for a distinctive Miami atmosphere. The event featured live entertainment from four-time Grammy Award-winner Tomasito Cruz, and an opportunity to experience a “hot lap” on The Concours Club’s exclusive two-mile driving circuit adjacent to the private terminal.

“The Grand Opening of Jet Linx Miami showcased what Your Personal Jet Company is all about, delivering exclusive experiences,” noted Christof Pignet, Jet Linx Vice President of Client Experience. “The event was regal, featuring award-winning music, curated mixology and delicacies, all infused with local Latin flavor – all of it against the backdrop of a gorgeous sunset, garnished with our signature service and delivered with a smile. Truly a night to remember!”
